In Africa Bitter leaf with botanical name Vernonia amygdalina is common and is usually eaten with the local soup delicacies just as spinach. It is a green leafy shrub with a dark brown bark. Bitter Leaf possesses tonic, anti-parasitic, anti-tumor and anti-bacterial properties. From it's leaf
to it's bark, roots and all it is bitter!
Although when eaten it leaves a bitter-sweet taste in the mouth.It is widely cherished by type 2 diabetics, its consumption can reduce bad cholesterol. It is also an abundant source of antioxidants, it is believed that this antioxidant property of Bitter leaf makes it a healthy disease fighting food.
It can be grown as a flower in a pot outside or in your backyard. This will be preferable because you pluck it fresh for consumption.

To get the liquid from it you crush the leaves together and squeeze the water out. You can also chew the leaf directly but this will be very bitter. taking half a glass of this drink daily will do you more good than you can ever think of especially with the excess fat in your system.
